The Marshall County Health Department is offering free bacteriological water testing to anyone whose drinking water well was affected by the recent flooding in Marshall County. Flooding around a well can cause contamination of the ground water and the casing of the well.
"It is important to remember to disinfect your well if your well has been affected by the recent flooding," said Christine Stinson, Administrator of the Marshall County Health Department.
Floodwaters carry all sorts of bacteria and viruses that may cause illness to persons drinking, cooking with, or bathing in well water that has been contaminated by floodwaters.
