The Argos Electric Department is committed to providing you the best quality service. Power outages are rare and are usually caused by dangerous winds or storms and the occasional curious critter.
During a widespread power outage, please do not contact the Electric Department. Our monitors alert utility personnel to problems. We respond as soon as possible and make every effort to restore power in a timely manner. We thank you for your patience and understanding when outages strike.
For utility deposits and billing questions, please contact the Clerk's office.

To save energy costs, turn off and unplug anything not in use such as lights, toasters, plug-in air fresheners, phone chargers, game chargers, battery chargers, power adapters, etc. Also, changing appliance filters regularly helps to cut electric usage.
The Town of Argos is a member of the Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA) and they are our electric supplier. We encourage you to visit the IMPA website for more helpful tips and information about reducing your electric bill.
Be careful when using space heaters around your home. Please don't plug them into multi-plug power strips. Power strips may start a fire if used in this manner. Never leave a space heater unattended. Turn it off when you leave the room and be extra cautious using one around children or pets.
Security lights are available for rent. Please contact the Clerk's office for more information.
Please keep your meter base clear of overgrowth and other items so that we may properly and safely read and maintain your meter. We need at least 3 feet of clearance around the meter base.
